It’s Time to Get SMART About Rodent Control

Cooler temperatures are welcome, but the increased rodent activity they bring is not. Rodent Awareness Week, October 18 through 24, is the perfect time to learn more about the threats rodents pose to health and property and about the latest, most effective ways Turner Pest Control has to minimize those dangers.

Rodent Concerns Are On The Rise

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) cites new research conducted on its behalf that found there were more than 11 million online engagements on the topic of rats as a home and health issue in July of this year, as well as a 16 percent increase in rodent sightings in home kitchens across the country during that same timeframe. This increase in sightings may be due in part to the lockdown resulting from the pandemic. An article in the Tampa Bay Times quotes Turner Pest Control Technical Director Wade Wilson on an increase in calls for rodent problems since the pandemic began. According to Wilson, calls for rodent-related issues are on the rise, adding that “People are home, so they have a tendency to notice things that they normally might not notice.”
